Letitia Wright’s Shuri is set to lead the way as the new Black Panther in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films and series. Before she donned the costume in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, though, there were other ideas for how she might look.

Towards the end of Wakanda Forever, Shuri ends up becoming the newest Black Panther and wears a slightly altered but still very recognizable Black Panther costume, which is similar to the one Chadwick Boseman wore. An Instagram post from artist and illustrator Wesley Burt showcases some of the earlier designs for what Shuri’s costume could have looked like.

Check out all of the potential looks for Shuri below:

While some of the costumes look very similar to the original Black Panther costume, some look entirely different, with a handful even featuring other accessories like capes and larger earrings.

Wakanda Forever saw the return of most of Black Panther‘s original main cast, including Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Winston Duke as M’Baku, and Florence Kasumba as Ayo. Joining them are franchise newcomers Tenoch Huerta (Narcos: Mexico) as Namor, Michaela Coel (I May Destroy You) as Aneka, Mabel Cadena as Namora, and Alex Livinalli as Attuma.
