The anime series based on the hit NieR: Automata video game officially has a release date, as Aniplex announced that it would begin airing the series in January 2023.

The announcement came alongside a litany of new information for the series, including two new teaser trailers, some posters, and the voice actors for the upcoming show, which is set to include:

  • Yui Ishikawa as 2B
  • Natsuki Hanae as 9S
  • Hiroki Yasumoto as Pod 042
  • Kaoru Akiyama as Pod 153

The anime will be based on the hit 2017 title created by PlatinumGames and follows the story of combat android 2B. When it launched, the game earned massive praise amongst fans and critics alike, with many complimenting it on its ability to deliver various gameplay formats while also incorporating an incredibly emotional story. Since its launch, Nier: Automata has gone on to sell over 6 million copies since its launch.
