Gen V, spinoff, The Boys, Amazon Prime Video, series, superhero

Amazon has revealed the official title for The Boys college spinoff series. If you think generational gaps are frustrating, wait until you get a load of Gen V. The series hails from showrunners Tara Butters and Michelle Fazekas and may feel slightly familiar to fans of the X-Men.

Gen V takes place “in America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (or supes) that is run by Vought International.” It will explore the lives of “hormonal, competitive supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games—with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”

Amazon introduced the title and cast of the spinoff in a new video posted to The Boys co-creator Eric Kripke’s official Twitter account on Friday. In the footage, cast members of GenV express their excitement to become a part of The Boys universe and cause trouble on college grounds. Featured in the video are Jaz Sinclair, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Lizzie Broadway, Chance Perdomo, London Thor, Asa Germann, Maddie, and Derek Luh, who make up the cast.

You can check out the video below:

As the actors in the video practically explode with entertainment, they promise the show is a roller coaster of humor, violence, heartbreak, sex, and everything else that makes The Boys franchise one of the most popular superhero properties of the moment. “It’s fucked up. You’re going to like it,” says Perdomo in the video.

Amazon struck superhero gold when The Boys debuted on Amazon Prime Video in 2019. In addition to the core show, there’s also The Boys Presents: Diabolical, featuring a series of animated shorts set in The Boys universe. If Gen V takes off in a big way, and I suspect it will, The Boys could last as long as AMC’s The Walking Dead. Only time will tell, but I think the future looks bright for the cast of Gen V.
