A new poster for the high-octane sequel marks the beginning of the end of the road

Vin Diesel clenches his hands in prayer for a new Fast X poster, teasing the next high-octane sequel in the core Fast franchise.

While James Gunn is busy detailing the future of the DCU, NBCUniversal is pumping the gas on Fast X, the first of two films to help end the core Fast and Furious franchise. Today, the studio unleashed a new Fast X poster featuring Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto with his hands clenched in prayer. With his head bowed and fingers digging into his fist, Dominic clutches his iconic crucifix necklace while likely reflecting on the end of the road to come.

According to reports, the first trailer for Fast X arrives two days before Super Bowl LVII. Sources say the Fast X trailer will clock in at over three minutes, previewing plenty of high-octane action, science-defying physics, and long-winded speeches about family. In addition to the trailer on February 10, a new TV spot for the film will air during the Super Bowl. Nothing gets you pumped for the gridiron ballet like the scent of gasoline, the hiss of nitrous oxide, and the grunting of middle-aged men.

Louis Leterrier directs Fast X from a screenplay by Justin Lin and Dan Mazeau. Returning castmembers include Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty, Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Scott Eastwood as Little Nobody, Tyrese Gibson as Roman, Sung Kang as Han, Ludacris as Tej, Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, Charlize Theron as Cipher, and Helen Mirren as Queenie.

Newcomers to the franchise include Jason Momoa as the “evil and androgynous” villain Dante, Alan Ritchson (Reacher), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Rita Moreno (West Side Story), Michael Rooker (Slither), and Daniela Melchoir (The Suicide Squad).

The Fast and Furious franchise is a fascinating cinematic journey. The first three films in the franchise feel like they’re from a bygone era. During the fourth film, The Fast and the Furious, the franchise’s tone shifts into something else entirely. Then, when Fast Five touches down, all bets are off, and the Fast franchise becomes a pedal-to-the-metal money maker. The franchise gets crazier and more far-fetched with every installment, leading up to F9: The Fast Saga, taking Toretto and his team to space! It is challenging to imagine what Fast X will do for the series, but I’m ready to find out. Make sure you’re paying attention around Super Bowl time to get your first look at the newest film in the franchise. I’m positive it will be a wild ride!
