McDonald’s and Pokémon are once again set to collaborate on a batch of exclusive cards. At least, that’s according to a recent report which notes the McDonald’s Pokémon 2023 cards may have appeared online.

What cards will be included in the 2023 McDonald’s x Pokémon collaboration?

According to a recent report from Pokébeach, the highly anticipated promotion has already begun in Germany and Austria, and is set to appear in the United Kingdom beginning on August 23, 2023. It’s currently unknown when a U.S. promotion will begin.

Pokébeach also shared what looks to be the 15 cards that will make up this year’s promotion, all of which will come from Pokémon’s Scarlet & Violet expansion.

The McDonald’s Pokémon 2023 cards are as follows:

  • Sprigatito
  • Fuecoco
  • Quaxly
  • Cetoddle
  • Cetitan
  • Pikachu
  • Pawmi
  • Kilowattrel
  • Flittle
  • Sandaconda
  • Klawf
  • Blissey
  • Tandemaus
  • Cyclizar
  • Kirlia

Of the 15 cards, six of them will be holographic, including: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Cetitan, Pikachu, and Klawf.

McDonald’s and Pokémon have been no stranger to collaborations, and have been running the same promotion for more than 20 years now. Beginning in 2001, the companies partnered up to release special Pokémon cards at participating locations. Up until 2011, the promotion was strictly limited to Japan, but have been a worldwide thing since.

The cards come packaged in special booster packs included with Pikachu-themed Happy Meal boxes, and usually include four cards in a pack. The cards themselves have also become very highly sought after in recent years. In 2021, the collaboration sold out almost immediately, with people rushing to McDonald’s to try and claim as many cards as possible.

It’s likely that the 2023 promotion will also be incredibly popular as well, so fans might want to keep an eye out on any participating McDonald’s for information.
