The official Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie release date for Paramount Pictures‘ latest animated movie spin-off of the hit Nickelodeon series has been revealed along with its first trailer. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 29, two years after the first movie made its theatrical debut.

The video features the return of the fan-favorite dog crew as they all gained powers after a magical meteor crashes into Adventure City. The Mighty Pups must face supervillains who are planning to steal their powers.

Who’s the Voice Cast of Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie?

Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie is directed by Cal Brunker from a screenplay he co-wrote with Bob Barlen, based on the story by Brunker, Barlen, and Shane Morris. The film features a star-studded voice cast including Mckenna Grace as Skye, Taraji P. Henson as Victoria Vance, Marsai Martin as Liberty, Christian Convery as Chase, Ron Pardo as Mayor Humdinger/ Cap’n Turbot, Kim Kardashian as Delores, North West as Mini, Finn Lee-Epp as Ryder, Alan Kim as Nano, Christian Corrao as Marshall, Luxton Handspiker as Rubble, Nylan Parthipan as Zuma, Callum Shoniker as Rocky, and Brice Gonzalez as Tot.

“When a magical meteor crash lands in Adventure City, it gives the PAW Patrol pups superpowers, transforming them into The MIGHTY PUPS! For Skye, the smallest member of the team, her new powers are a dream come true,” reads the synopsis. But things take a turn for the worse when the pups’ archrival Humdinger breaks out of jail and teams up with Victoria Vance, a meteor-obsessed mad scientist, to steal the superpowers and turn themselves into supervillains. With the fate of Adventure City hanging in the balance, the Mighty Pups have to stop the supervillains before it’s too late, and Skye will need to learn that even the smallest pup can make the biggest difference.”

In addition, Chris Rock, Lil Rel Howery, Serena Williams, Saint West, James Marsden, and Kristen Bell have will also have voice cameos in the sequel. The film is produced by Jennifer Dodge, Laura Clunie, and Toni Stevens, with Ronnen Harary, Adam Beder, and Peter Schlessel serving as executive producers. It hails from Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies and Spin Master Entertainment.
