Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount and Ethan Peck want a crossover episode with the cast of The Next Generation.
The upcoming second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will include a crossover episode with Star Trek: Lower Decks, but if the cast have their way… it won’t be the last crossover for the series. While speaking with SFX Magazine, Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount (Pike) and Ethan Peck (Spock) are holding out hope for a crossover with the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
“I’d have to say The Next Generation,” Ethan Peck said, “Just because I’ve gotten now to work with Jonathan Frakes and I’ve gotten to know some of the cast. They’re so fun and wonderful and I’ve become a fan of the show. Furthermore, I think Data is my all-time favourite character. It would be a dream come true to have a scene between Spock and Data. Played by Brent Spiner, of course.“
Anson Mount agreed, and revealed that he’s actually known Patrick Stewart since he was 22 years old. “I met him when I was a very young man in graduate school and we had a mutual friend, who’s sort of my godmother in my higher education experience and an old friend of his from his RSC days,” Mount said. That friend has since passed away, but Mount added that she “really would have loved to see us as part of the same franchise. And if we could actually be on the same show or movie or something, that would really be the icing on the cake.“
The Strange New Worlds/Lower Decks crossover features Tawny Newsome as Ensign Beckett Mariner and Jack Quaid as Ensign Brad Boimler making the leap to live-action in what director Jonathan Frakes called a “flat-out comic [episode].“
Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount as Christoper Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, Ethan Peck as Spock, Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga. The second season also features Carol Kane as Chief Engineer Pelia. The first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is now available on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, with the second season set to debut on Paramount+ on June 15th.
