Thursday was Ghostbusters Day, and in celebration, Sony Pictures UK has shared what looks to be a Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2 poster.

In a new tweet, Sony Pictures UK shared the newest poster for the upcoming film. The image showcases the iconic Ghostbusters logo completely frozen over. No caption or any follow-up message was sent, with fans left to speculate the meaning.

Although no concrete information is known about the sequel, recent set photos from production teased the return of stars William Atherton, Ernie Hudson, and Paul Rudd. With filming set to take place in New York, the film will bring its main cast back to the setting of the original Ghostbusters.

What do we know about Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2?

The Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel — which has the working title of Firehouse — is scheduled to arrive later this year on December 20, 2023. Additionally, the sequel will also make its debut in the same month as other high-profile projects such as Wonka and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Firehouse is being directed by Gil Kenan from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jason Reitman. The next chapter in the Spengler family story will also feature the return of the main cast, including Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, and Mckenna Grace, who was the first cast member to confirm her return.

The 2021 film earned a worldwide gross of more than $200 million at the box office. It starred Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, and Paul Rudd. It also featured the return of franchise stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts.
