The latest trailer for the upcoming Marvel series Secret Invasion has dropped, building even more anticipation for the Nick Fury-led series.

Marvel’s Secret Invasion will be a major turning point for the Nick Fury character, who has up to this point not had his own true showcase. Fury has certainly seen his share of loss and pain, which will play significantly into the series. On Secret Invasion, star Samuel L. Jackson said, “We don’t know who’s a friend, who’s the enemy…There’s a political aspect that kind of fits into where we are right now. Who’s okay, who’s not? What happens when people get afraid and don’t understand other people? You can’t tell who’s innocent and who’s guilty in this particular instance.”

Fury, of course, has been a recurring character throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Jackson playing the eyepatched, bad muthaf*ckin’ founder of the Avengers Initiative. Secret Invasion will be Fury’s third Marvel series. He has also appeared in 11 movies so far, including cameos (thus the technicality of Jackson being one of the highest-grossing actors ever), with The Marvels due out on November 10th

The supporting cast of Marvel’s Secret Invasion also includes Ben Mendelsohn (returning as Talos), Cobie Smulders (S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill), Don Cheadle (James Rhodes), Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Christopher McDonald, and more. Secret Invasion is the first series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Five, to be later joined by season two of Loki, the sophomore season of What If…?, Ironheart, Echo, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and Daredevil: Born Again.

Secret Invasion got its first trailer back in September at Disney’s D23 Expo, but with its release less than three months away, the hype is stronger than ever for the Marvel series and hopefully even Phase Five, which officially launched with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The six-episode Secret Invasion arrives on Disney+ on June 21st.
