For the last six years, filmmakers and Movie Crypt podcast hosts Adam Green and Joe Lynch (plus Green’s dog Arwen) have been hosting live 48 hour marathon fundraisers called Yorkiethon to benefit Save A Yorkie Rescue. For this year’s Yorkiethon VII, they’re going to be taking a different approach to the fundraiser. Instead of staying up for 48 hours straight, they’re going to spread the 48 hours of live events out over the course of an entire week! Yorkiethon VII is set to take place from Sunday, December 4th through Saturday, December 10th. Here’s the schedule for the livestream, which can be watched for free on Ariescope.com:
Sunday 12/4: 10am PST – 6pm PST
Monday 12/5 through Friday 12/9: 5pm PST – 11pm PST
Saturday 12/10: 10am PST – 8pm PST
And here’s some information on the event:
Join hosts Adam Green, Joe Lynch, and Arwen as they welcome 70+ special guests from all over the world and put on the greatest variety show of the year! Live music, live comedy, live film commentaries, an incredible live script reading, live celebrity interviews, “Arwen’s Silent Auction,” and so much more! Every penny raised goes to Save A Yorkie Rescue and will help change the lives of dogs that have been abandoned and/or abused by the very people they were counting on most in life.
Most items purchased in “Arwen’s Silent Auction” will not begin shipping until after the holidays. In order to ensure that every penny raised goes to the dogs under the care of Save A Yorkie Rescue, YORKIETHON is a fully volunteer operation. Our volunteer staff will be spending the holidays with their families, but they will get everything shipped out when they return in January. DO NOT EXPECT TO RECEIVE ITEMS PURCHASED IN “ARWEN’S SILENT AUCTION” BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
You can check out Arwen’s Silent Auction at THIS LINK.
Green and Lynch also revealed that they will be recording fan commentaries on The Terminator, The Ruins, Silent Night, Dead Snow, and Spiral: From the Book of Saw during the fundraiser marathon. There will also be a live script reading of Jeffrey Reddick’s original draft of Final Destination, which was titled Flight 180.
Will you be watching the Yorkiethon VII livestream? Have you ever watched any of the previous Yorkiethon events or contributed to the fundraiser? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
