Hogwarts Legacy was recently pushed to 2023, but that doesn’t mean Avalanche Software is out of stuff to show for the role-playing game. Gamescom’s Opening Night Live held one more look at the title, giving potential wizards another view of the choices it can have. Players can also start pre-ordering the game on August 25 at 8 a.m. PT and those who do will get a host of extras.
The trailer previews a side quest that follows Slytherin studio Sebastian Sallow. Befriending him will give players the decision to embrace or reject the Dark Arts. This is shown in the trailer through the Torture Curse, Crucio. The game will apparently have more choices like this, like many role-playing games.

The standard edition pre-order will be $59.99 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC when they open up on August 25, but Switch pre-orders won’t go live until a later date. The price is $10 more on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those who do pre-order will get the Onyx Hippogriff Mount.
The $69.99 deluxe edition (which is $10 more on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) will give users access to the game 72 hours early and have the Dark Arts Pack. This unlocks the Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, a flying Thestral Mount, and the Dark Arts Battle Arena that includes a wave-based survival mode.

There’s also a $79.99 digital deluxe version across every platform that has the deluxe edition content, Dark Arts Garrison Hat, and includes both generations of the game, meaning those who buy it on PlayStation get the PS4 and PS5 version and those who purchase it on Xbox get the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S version.
There will also be an expensive collector’s edition that will include the items from the deluxe edition, Dark Garrison Hat, in-game Kelpie Robe, physical steel case, and a real wand and book case. It will be $289.99 on every planform but PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, where it will be $299.99. Warner Bros. has yet to release images of this version.
