Netflix has dropped the Devil in Ohio trailer for its forthcoming limited series adaptation of Daria Polatin’s suspense novel of the same name. It will be available for streaming on September 2.

The video features Emily Deschanel’s Dr. Suzanne Mathis as she welcomes a mysterious and terrified young girl into her life by offering shelter and guidance to her. As it turns out, the girl is actually an important member of a cult who was able to escape.

Inspired by a true story, Devil in Ohio is a thrilling, shocking tale of demonic mayhem and mystery in the heart of small-town America. Joining Deschanel are Sam Jaeger as Peter, Gerardo Celasco as Detective Lopez, Madeleine Arthur as Mae, Xaria Dotson as Jules, Alisha Newton as Helen, Naomi Tan as Dani, and more.

“When hospital psychiatrist Dr. Suzanne Mathis shelters a mysterious cult escapee, her world is turned upside down as the strange girl’s arrival threatens to tear her own family apart,” reads the logline.

Devil in Ohio is created and executive produced by Polatin, who also serves as the showrunner. It is executive produced by Rachel Miller, Andrew Wilder, and Ian Hay. The directing lineup is consist of John Fawcett, Brad Anderson, Leslie Hope, and Steve Adelson.
