The actor was spotted filming on set in New York City recently, sporting a 1970s-era look, complete with long hair and bell-bottom pants. Alongside Holland, Sasha Lane — who will play a character named Ariana in the series — can also be seen beside him in two of the photographs.

Described as a captivating thriller, the 10-episode first season will be based in part on creator Akiva Goldsman’s own life and will also be inspired by Daniel Keyes’ acclaimed biography titled “The Minds of Billy Milligan.”

The Crowded Room is an anthology series that dives into the true tales of people who have “struggled and learned to successfully live with mental illness.” Holland is set for the lead role of Danny Sullivan, a character loosely based on Milligan, the first person ever acquitted of a crime because of multiple personality disorder (now known as dissociative identity disorder).

It is a co-production between Apple Studios and New Regency.
