Fast and Furious 10, Daniela Melchior, The Suicide Squad

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad was full of scene-stealing characters, but one of the biggest break-out stars of the film was Daniela Melchior. The Portuguese actress played Ratcatcher 2 in The Suicide Squad, who Gunn described as the “heart of the film.” Well, Daniela Melchior is set to join another massive franchise as The Wrap has reported that she’s in talks to join the cast of Fast and Furious 10.

It’s not known what type of character Daniela Melchior would play in Fast and Furious 10, but she would join a cast that includes returning stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Sung Kang. Jason Momoa is also set to join the film as the villain, something he confirmed earlier this month. “It’s fun, I get to play the bad guy, which I haven’t gotten to do for a while,” Momoa said. “Now, I get to be the bad boy. A very flamboyant bad boy. A little panache!

One person who won’t be returning for this latest Fast and Furious movie is Dwayne Johnson. The actor’s feud with Vin Diesel is well publicized by this point and the actor said that there was “no chance” he would return to the franchise after Diesel’s public plea that he do so. “I told [Diesel] directly that I would not be returning to the franchise,” Johnson said. “I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return. Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.

Daniela Melchior will next be see in Assassin Club alongside Henry Golding, Noomi Rapace, and Sam Neill as well as Neil Jordan’s neo-noir thriller Marlowe alongside Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger, Jessica Lange, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and more. Fast and Furious 10 will start shooting this spring in London for a May 19, 2023 release.
