Star Trek: Resurgence was one of the games that made a surprise appearance at The Game Awards in 2021. The trailer revealed the title with some snippets of gameplay. Dramatic Labs has come forth and revealed even more gameplay of the title, giving players a look at some new and iconic characters from the franchise.

IGN hosted the video as a part of its IGN First initiative. In it, players will recognize Telltale Games-like choices, which tracks since Dramatic Labs is made up of many ex-Telltale staff members. The trailer shows Ambassador Spock briefing the player about a quarrel between a few alien races and the all of the associated headaches of handling such a volatile situation. And as such, the “action” here is more diplomatic and not rooted in explosions or firefights.

Star Trek: Resurgence takes place after The Next Generation and stars two new characters, First Officer Jara Rydek and Engineering Crewperson Carter Diaz, during their tenure aboard the U.S.S. Resolute. Dramatic Labs will likely reveal more later in the year, as, according to IGN, the title is slated for later in 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the Epic Store. This seems to be a shift from its earlier release window of spring 2022.
