Hot on the heels of Sylvester Stallone signing a multi-year deal with Amazon Studios, Deadline has reported the actor is set to star in and produce Never Too Old to Die for the company.

The action comedy kicks off with a mysterious murder within a retirement home for spies, which sparks a Cold War hero’s personal mission to find the assassin living among them. Brian Otting, best known as the writer and director of the short film Prom Car ’91, penned the script for the project. In addition to starring in Never Too Old to Die, Sylvester Stallone will also produce alongside Braden Aftergood for Balboa Productions.

Sylvester Stallone’s Amazon partnership will see him write, direct, produce, and star in film and television projects, both scripted and unscripted, for the streaming giant. “Sylvester Stallone is an undeniable Hollywood legend who has created some of the most timeless and iconic characters of our generation,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon and MGM Studios. “As an actor, writer, director, and producer, he has defined his own epic brand of storytelling and inspired people all over the world. We are excited to continue our relationship with Sylvester and Balboa Productions to bring even more of his exciting creative vision to our global audiences.” Stallone and Aftergood added, “We are thrilled to partner with Amazon to create new film and television projects. Having the opportunity to work closely with the talented creative teams at Amazon and MGM will further propel the incredible momentum of Balboa Productions.

Sylvester Stallone will next be seen reprising his role of Ravager Captain Stakar Ogord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will hit theaters on May 5th. He has also been starring as New York Mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi in Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King. The series has been renewed for a second season by Paramount+. Stallone will also be dipping his toe in the realm of reality TV with The Family Stallone, an eight-part docuseries that promises to “offer a seat at the table of one of Hollywood’s most famous families” as they show how the legendary action star and Oscar winner is simply “Dad” at home. The series will launch on Paramount+ on May 17th.
