The Audrey Hepburn-starring Roman Holiday is getting its first-ever 4k Ultra HD release from Paramount Home Entertainment this August.

Paramount Home Entertainment announced Roman Holiday, the classic Hepburn and Gregory Peck film from 1953, is getting a special 4K Ultra HD release with a number of different special features in celebration of the film’s 70th anniversary.

“Audrey Hepburn stars in the story of a modern-day princess who, rebelling against her royal obligations, explores Rome and falls in love with an American newspaperman played by Gregory Peck,” Paramount Home Entertainment’s description of the film reads.

Roman Holiday’s Special Features and Awards

Roman Holiday’s 4K Ultra HD release comes with over an hour of special features that give fans an opportunity to learn more about the movie’s costumes, how Trumbo’s blacklisting impacted the film, and more. The full list of special features includes Filmmaker Focus, Leonard Maltin on Roman Holiday, Behind the Gates: Costumes, Rome with a Princess, Audrey Hepburn: The Paramount Years, Dalton Trumbo: From A-List to Blacklist, Paramount in the ‘50s: Remembering Audrey, Theatrical Trailers, and Four Photo Galleries: Production, The Movie, Publicity, and The Premiere.

Directed by William Wyler, Roman Holiday was co-written by Dalton Trumbo, whose name was initially not included in the film’s credits as he was blacklisted for not cooperating with the House Un-Amiercan Activities Committee in 1947. Trumbo received story credit for Roman Holiday in 1993 and was eventually added to the credited screenwriters in 2011.

In 1954, Roman Holiday was nominated for several Academy Awards, including Best Motion Picture (Wyler), Best Director (Wyler), Best Supporting Actor (Eddie Albert), Best Screenplay (Ian McLellan Hunter and John Dighton), Best Art Direction Black-and-White (Hal Pereira and Walter H. Tyler), Best Cinematography Black-and-White (Franz Planer and Henri Alekan), and Best Editing (Robert Swink). It won Academy Awards for Best Actress (Hepburn), Best Story (Trumbo), and Best Costume Design Black-and-White (Edith Head).
