Early reactions for Bong Joon-Ho‘s upcoming Mickey 17 have been overwhelmingly positive.

The writer and director of Parasite and Snowpiercer helmed the sci-fi thriller. It “follows the story of Mickey 17, an ‘expendable,’ who is a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim,” reads the film’s synopsis. “After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact.”

A recent test screening of the film has generated positive buzz. One reaction claims it’s a clever, political film with aspects of the Korean director’s signature style. Robert Pattinson gives an unhinged performance in twin roles, while Mark Ruffalo and Toni Collette provide fantastic supporting roles.

Mickey 17 is set to offer stunning production quality, with a focus on practical effects over CGI.

When is the Mickey 17 release date?

Mickey 17 releases on March 29, 2024, by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The film stars Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Mark Ruffalo, and Toni Collette.
