Loki season 2 producer sheds a little light on Ke Huy Quan, who plays the Time Variance Authority’s quirky repair tech.

The second season of Loki will debut on Disney+ next month, and one of the most exciting additions to the cast is Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once), who plays Time Variance Authority tech expert OB.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Loki executive producer Kevin Wright shed a little light on OB. “His job is basically every piece of tech, every computer, every thing that is running at the TVA,” Wright said. “He either designed it, or he fixes it and keeps it running.” Wright also explained how quickly Marvel moved in order to sign Ke Huy Quan for Loki season 2. Marvel casting director Sarah Halley Finn had caught an early screening of Everything Everywhere All at Once and suggested they make Quan an offer as soon as possible. “I think Kevin Feige made a call maybe April 12, just to follow up and say, ‘Please, please do this,’” Wright said. “Little did we know, Ke is apparently already a giant Marvel fan and was a big fan of Loki season 1.”

In addition to Ke Huy Quan, Loki season 2 also features Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Tara Strong as the voice of Miss Minutes, and more. Jonathan Majors will also be returning as Victor Timely, a variant of Kang the Conqueror who was introduced in the post-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors is currently facing allegations of abuse, but Victor Timely will nonetheless play a major role in the new season. “Victor Timely is somebody that we are very, very excited about,” Wright said. “When you look at Kang, he has a very funny comic backstory. He has all these iterations. Timely was one that we’ve always wanted to do in Loki. And I think we’re really excited about how that integrates into the season. It’s a big part of the show.

Marvel may be considering a change of plans when it comes to Jonathan Major’s involvement in the franchise following Loki season 2, but nothing has been decided yet. Kang has been expected to be the big bad of The Multiverse Saga, which will conclude with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Loki season 2 will debut on Disney+ on October 6th.
