Melissa Barrera starred as Sam Carpenter in the recent Scream sequel (get it HERE) and will be reprising the role in the next sequel, which is currently filming in Montreal and aiming for a March 2023 release date. But before we see Barrera confront another Ghostface slasher, we’ll be seeing her in the Netflix streaming service’s limited series Keep Breathing, which is scheduled to be released on July 28th. With just over a month ago before all six episodes of Keep Breathing will be available to watch, Netflix has unveiled a batch of first look images – and you can check them out at the bottom of this article.

Directed by Maggie Kiley (episodes 1-3) and Rebecca Rodriguez (episodes 4-6), Keep Breathing has the following synopsis:

After her private plane crashes in the remote Canadian frontier, lone survivor and New York lawyer, Liv (Melissa Barrera), must battle both an unforgiving wilderness and past personal traumas to stay alive.

Martin Gero and Brendan Gall were the showrunners on the series, which they also executive produced alongside Kiley.

Barrera is joined in the cast by Jeff Wilbusch (Dawn Breaks Behind the Eyes), Austin Stowell (Swallow), Juan Pablo Espinosa (Cocaine Godmother), and Florencia Lozano (One Life to Live).

Kiley’s previous directing credits include episodes of Scream Queens, American Horror Story, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Nightflyers, Riverdale, and Dirty John. Rodriguez – who, yes, does happen to be one of Robert Rodriguez’s sisters – has previously directed episodes of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, The Orville, Queen of the South, Mayans M.C., Snowpiercer, and Doom Patrol.

Keep Breathing sounds interesting to me, so I will probably check it out on Netflix at some point. Does this sound like a show you would want to watch? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
