Hoje à noite no Grammy Awards de 2023, Loretta Lynn, Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie, Takeoff, Jeff Beck, David Crosby, Yellow Magic Orchestra’s Yukihiro Takahashi, The Specials’ Terry Hall, Olivia Newton-John, Television’s Tom Verlaine, Coolio, Pharoah Sanders e mais foram homenageados durante o segmento anual in memoriam. Kacey Musgraves prestou homenagem a Loretta Lynn com uma apresentação de sua icônica balada “Coal Miner’s Daughter”. Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood e Bonnie Raitt também subiram ao palco para apresentar “Songbird” em homenagem a Christine McVie. Em outra parte do segmento, Quavo e Maverick City Music uniram forças para uma versão de “Without You”, em memória do rapper Takeoff do Migos.

O segmento também homenageou Anita Pointer, Ian MacDonald do King Crimson, Keith Levene do Clash, Andrew Fletcher do Depeche Mode, Lisa Marie Presley, Gal Costa, DJ Kay Slay, Irene Cara, Thom Bell, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ramsey Lewis, Jerry Allison, o Rascals’ Dino Danelli, Donald “Tabby” Shaw, Alec John Such, Fred E.
