According to the The Hollywood Reporter, Eternals star Gemma Chan has officially signed on to star in Netflix’s time traveling series based on the upcoming debut novel of Pim WangTechawat titled The Moon Represents My Heart. The project hails from Shawn Levy through 21 Laps.

The Moon Represents My Heart, the novel, is being developed into a limited series as part of 21 Laps’ overall deal with Netflix. The story centers around a British-Chinese family with the secret ability to time travel. After the parents vanish, their son and daughter search for them across time while coming of age as adults.
The project is being executive produced by Chan, Levy, and 21 Laps’ Josh Barry. The studio’s Senior VP Emily Morris will be overseeing the project with manager Moera Ainai.

Chan gained recognition for her breakout role as Astrid in Crazy Rich Asians. She starred in last year’s star-studded Marvel Studios film, Eternals. She will next be seen in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling film and New Regency’s sci-fi film True Love as well as in the Apple TV+ series Extrapolations.
