Ed Harris believes HBO series will end with season 5

[ad_1]

Over the course of four seasons, Westworld has kept us guessing as it bent our perspective of reality, but all good things must come to an end. Nothing has been officially announced yet, but Ed Harris recently told THR that Westworld season 5 will start shooting next year and that it could be the last.

We have one more season, which will start filming next April and May. I have no idea where that’s going to end up.

I haven’t caught up with the last two seasons of the series, so there may be some SPOILERS here. Ed Harris plays William/The Man in Black in Westworld and his character has certainly taken some interesting turns over the years. When asked by THR if his character can be redeemed when all is said and done, Harris said, “That’s a really good question. You know, I wouldn’t mind if he, the actual human William, got out of the cryo machine and corrected some situations that he’s responsible for. I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I certainly have not been told, but I’m not sure if he’s got much chance of surviving. I don’t know if he’s ever going to get back to being that man [played by Jimmi Simpson]. I’m hoping that some aspect of who he was when he was younger comes back, but I really don’t know if it will. I have no idea what they’re planning.

HBO has described Westworld‘s fourth season as “a dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on Earth.” The series stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton, Ed Harris, Tessa Thompson, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Hemsworth, Aaron Paul, Angela Sarafyan, and Ariana DeBose. James Marsden has also returned as Teddy Flood. The character was a love interest of Dolores (Wood) and was last seen in the second season of the series.

The fourth season of Westworld premiered on HBO last month, so be sure to check out a review from our own Alex Maidy right here. Should Westworld season 5 be the last for the series?
