New Daredevil: Born Again set photos have hinted at a major Kingpin-focused storyline in the upcoming Disney+ series.

The photos feature Wilson Fisk/Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio in his costume on set. Worth noting is that part of his outfit is a United States flag pin, further teasing the character’s mayoral campaign storyline that popped up in other set photos earlier this year.

Kingpin has become the mayor of New York City before in the comics, with Matt Murdock/Daredevil becoming his deputy mayor at the time and attempting to take him down from within. In the source material, Fisk took a hard stance against vigilantes like Spider-Man and Daredevil as the mayor, though whether this story aspect will carry over is unconfirmed.

What is Daredevil: Born Again?

Daredevil: Born Again is described as an 18-episode revival of the original, which ran for three seasons. It will feature the return of leading stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, as they reprise their respective roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

Both characters made their Marvel Cinematic Universe debuts in 2021. Kingpin guest-starred in the Disney+ Hawkeye series, and Matt Murdock briefly appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Cox also guest-starred in two episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where he showed off a lighter side of the hero.

In addition to Cox and D’Onofrio, the Daredevil revival will also see the long-awaited return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher. Joining them are Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gaston, Nikki M. James, and Arty Froushan.

Daredevil: Born Again hails from head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who will also serve as executive producers along with Kevin Feige. The series is currently set to premiere in the spring of 2024 on Disney+.
