Marvel officially released the Loki season 2 trailer yesterday and it has broken Disney+ records with 80 millions views.

Loki, season 2 trailer

The first trailer for Loki season 2 was released yesterday and it’s already become a huge success for Marvel Studios. According to Deadline, the Loki season 2 trailer has become the “biggest online trailer debut ever for any series on Disney+ with 80 million views.” Congrats.

The first season of Loki remains Marvel’s most-watched series on Disney+, so it’s no surprise that audiences have been eagerly awaiting the next installment. The trailer finds Loki (Tom Hiddleston) doing some time-slipping (a very cool effect) and teaming up with Mobius (Owen Wilson) in order to save the timeline.

In addition to Hiddleston and Wilson, Loki season 2 also features Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Tara Strong as the voice of Miss Minutes, and more. The second season of the Marvel series will include a few fresh faces as well, including Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

Ke Huy Quan’s character is a TVA archivist and damn near stole the show in the trailer, and I fully expect him to do the same in the series. Owen Wilson has said that he was thrilled to have Quan join the cast. “I know. It’s so exciting. That was incredible,” Wilson said. “Every time I saw him winning something, it was another speech that just kind of was a tearjerker that was so moving. And even when we were working on this last summer — I think his character that he plays in Loki season two — I think people will be excited, even though that was so great, obviously, the character that he won an Oscar, for I think people are going to love his character in this.

Jonathan Majors will also be returning as Victor Timely, a variant of Kang the Conqueror who was introduced in the post-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, given the allegations of abuse Majors has been facing, Marvel may be considering a change of plans when it comes to the actor’s involvement in the franchise. Kang has been expected to be the big bad of The Multiverse Saga, which will conclude with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Loki season 2 will debut on Disney+ on October 6th.
