Chris Evans, Captain America

After playing Captain America in nearly a dozen Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, Chris Evans bid adieu to the iconic character in Avengers: Endgame. The film proved to be a fitting sendoff for the character, but fans would still love to see Chris Evans reprise the role.

Since the release of Avengers: Endgame, there have been rumours that Chris Evans might return as Captain America, but they’ve always been shot down. Although the actor isn’t ruling anything out, he told ComicBook.com that playing Captain America again would be a tall order.

I don’t want to disappoint anybody but it’s tough to… It was such a good run and I’m so happy with it. It’s so precious to me. It would have to be perfect. It just would be scary to rattle something that is, again, so, so dear to me. That role means so much to me. So, to revisit it, it would be a tall order.

ComicBook.com brought up one getting to see Captain America return the Infinity Stones, an event that took place offscreen in Avengers: Endgame, and Chris Evans admitted, “That seems to be something people would like to see.” Evans played a wonderful Captain America and was able to provide an emotional conclusion to his arc, but it’s hard to deny the desire to want to see him again.

Chris Evans will be voicing Buzz Lightyear, a test pilot who later becomes the legendary Space Ranger, in Pixar’s Lightyear on June 17th. He’ll also be starring alongside Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas in The Gray Man, an action thriller directed by the Russo Brothers which will be released on Netflix on July 22nd. Would you like to see Chris Evans play Captain America again?
