The Netflix streaming service has just unveiled teaser trailers for two high-profile genre shows they have coming our way: Mike Flanagan‘s The Midnight Club, based on the 1994 novel by Christopher Pike (buy it HERE), and the anthology series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. The trailer for The Midnight Club, which is coming to Netflix on October 7th, can be seen in the embed above, while the trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, which will be released sometime later this year, can be seen at the bottom of this article.
Christopher Pike’s The Midnight Club novel takes place
at Rotterdam Home, a hospice for terminally ill teenagers. A group of patients begin to gather together at midnight to share scary stories. They eventually make a pact that whichever of them dies first will contact the others from beyond the grave.
Flanagan has written the adaptation with Leah Fong, Elan Gale, James Flanagan, and Chinaka Hodge. Flanagan and Fong are also executive producing the show with Trevor Macy and Julia Bicknell. The Midnight Club series stars Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, William Chris Sumpter, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Shephard, and Sauriyan Sapkota as the terminally ill teens. They’re joined in the cast by Zach Gilford, Samantha Sloyan, and Matt Biedel, with Heather Langenkamp on board as a enigmatic doctor.
Created and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro, Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is also being executive produced by J.
